Futago Udon

We were approached with designing and painting this Japanese Udon restaurant in the Fenway area of Boston, MA. The client wanted warm and appetizing colors, so we worked with a color palette that would inspire the ambitions of the restaurant’s guests. We worked with Japanese iconography to keep things in theme. The main piece which overlooks the restaurant is a birds-eye view of a fantastical bowl of udon. Inside is Mt. Fuji, an egg drop, a great wave, and a fishcake, among other things. We couldn’t go without cherry blossom embellishments, of course. Across the room, we added an additional “udon scene.” Think of it as a close-up of what’s going on in our bowl.
